About Rob Overman (1958)
Rob Overman is the MonteVerdi Editor-in-Chief.
Since studying Musicology at Utrecht University and Conducting at the Hilversum Conservatorium, Rob has pursued a career as music critic, lecturer in Musical and Cultural History, Orchestra managing director and, more recently, strategy and policy consultant in the performing Arts.
As manager of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Rob consolidated his management credentials, going on to become the managing director of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and their Gergiev Festival until 2003.
Having built an equally impressive reputation as both musicologist and managing director in the Performing Arts, in 2003 Rob began to work as consultant focused on strategic policy in the performing arts.
Today, as co-founder of MonteVerdi Media, Rob Overman continues to pursue his goals to provide classical and other music communities with innovative and progressive media platforms for the 21st Century. Rob is also involved as Chief Creative Officer at the pan-European Classical Music TV channel BravaHDTV and is Commission member at Dutch National Council for Culture.
