The summer is coming and that means that the cultural season is over. The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, as usual, end their year in the Berlin Waldbühne, with a grandiose out-door concert. A wonderful way to end the season and start the summer! Watch beautiful recordings of previous Waldbühne concerts, including the works of Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, Bernstein, Ravel and Bizet and features stars such as Lang Lang, Kent Nagano, Mariss Jansons, Vadim Repin and of course Sir Simon Rattle.

About Waldbühne 2000 - Rhythm and Dance

The Waldbuhne in Berlin, one of the most appealing amphitheatres on the European continent, is the home of the Berliner Philharmoniker's summer concerts. With over 20,000 in attendance, they belong to the most popular classical music concerts in the world. Under the title 'Rhythm and Dance' Kent Nagano created with his combination of popular and rather unusual music from the 20th Century (Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin and Maurice Ravel amongst others) one of the most exciting programs the Berliner Philharmoniker ever played at the Waldbuhne. Nagano injects so much sensuality and pulsating vividness that the audience has no choice but to beat the rhythm with their feet and to give standing ovations. © EuroArts

The Waldbühne in Berlin, one of the most appealing outdoor amphitheatres on the European continent, is the home of the Berliner Philharmoniker's summer concerts. With over 20.000 in attendance, they are some of the most popular classical music concerts in the world. This year Simon Rattle conducts the Berliner Philharmoniker and the extraordinary pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque.
